Park Rules & Security

Alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto the Park property or removed from the Park. Outside alcoholic beverages will be confiscated. Alcoholic beverages may be purchased at the Park by individuals 21 years of age or older with valid, current photo identification.

The Park reserves the right to limit the service of alcoholic beverages and to refuse service. Excessive consumption of alcohol is prohibited. Any indication of intoxication or any kind of substance impairment, as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Park, may result in removal from the Park without warning, without refund, and refused re-entry.

The Park is a nicotine-free property. Smoking, vaping, and the use of tobacco or nicotine products are prohibited. Products in violation of this policy will be confiscated. The Park complies with applicable requirements of the Iowa Smokefree Air Act and maintains additional nicotine-free policies to support the comfort, health, and safety of the Park’s guests.

Individuals must behave in a family-friendly manner. Profanity, harassment, intimidation, threats, fighting, disorderly conduct, and the like are prohibited. Illegal conduct including but not limited to loitering, panhandling, shoplifting, and vandalism is prohibited. Soliciting, distributing flyers/handbills, or posting signage without prior written approval is prohibited. Behavior that Park reasonably believes could cause injury, panic, property damage, or disruption including but not limited to the below non-exhaustive list, is prohibited and individuals who perform the same may be subject to removal without refund and refusal of re-entry: 

• running (except in designated areas)
• pushing/shoving
• wrestling/tackling
• roughhousing 
• horseplay/playfighting
• throwing objects
• unsafe, unwanted, and/or disruptive splashing
• pranks
• skipping lines

Individuals 17 years old and under (“Minor”) must be accompanied by an individual 21 years or older (“Adult”) at all times while on Park property. Valid government-issued photo ID may be requested. Failure to provide same may result in removal from the Park without re-entry and without refund. One Adult may accompany no more than four Minors. Minor accompaniment may vary for special events or during certain hours.

Adults are solely responsible and liable for the behavior and supervision of accompanying Minors. The Park is not responsible or liable for the behavior or supervision of Minors.

To ensure all individuals visiting the Park enjoy their visit, and in keeping with the Park’s family-friendly environment, as well as for health and safety reasons, tops, bottoms, and footwear must be worn at all times except in permitted water areas where swimwear may be worn in accordance with the Park’s family-friendly environment. The Park may request individuals not in compliance with the dress policy to comply with same. Failure to comply may result in removal without refund and no re-entry.

For safety, security, and guest experience, individuals must remain identifiable. Masks, hoods, face coverings, or anything that conceals the face are prohibited unless for valid medical, religious, or weather-related protection. The Park may inquire as to the covering to ensure compliance with this policy. Costumes, face paint, and makeup may be further restricted during special events or specific times in the Park’s sole discretion for the safety of property and persons.

Notwithstanding any medical, religious, weather-related, or any other reason, the Park has broad discretion to keep property and persons safe at the Park. Thus, the Park and Hosts may request individuals to remove or adjust items to adhere to this policy. Individuals who violate this policy or refuse to adhere to the policy or requests from the Park or Hosts may be denied admission, removed from the Park without refund, and denied re-entry.

Unless otherwise stated in this section, outside food and beverages are not permitted in the Park. In the sole and absolute discretion of the Park, exceptions to this policy may be made for baby food, medical necessities, and special dietary needs. Outside Unopened bottled water and unopened bottled sports hydration drinks are permitted. Outside empty refillable water bottles are permitted. Filling stations are located at the Chicken Shack, Dragon Island Bridge, Outlaw Gulch, and Adventure Bay. Food and beverages in violation of this policy will be confiscated, and failure to abide may result in removal and refusal of re-entry.

Individuals other than the Hosts are prohibited from restricted areas including but not limited to ride operator areas, ride perimeters, backstage areas, and designated Host-only areas. Individuals must use designated walkways and entrances/exits and remain on marked pathways. Individuals should report lost items to a Host.

Individuals must follow all posted attraction rules, rider safety notices, and Host instructions. Injury-reporting station information is posted at reporting and First Aid Stations in accordance with Iowa Code chapter 88A, including section 88A.16 - Notice to riders. Report injuries or safety concerns immediately to a Host or First Aid station.

Security screening is a condition of entry (and re-entry, if permitted) to the Park. Individuals who refuse screening or inspection will be denied entry (or re-entry, if permitted). Knives, sharp objects, weapons, and contraband are prohibited. Individuals who bring prohibited items into the Park may be denied admission or removed from the Park without refund and refused re-entry.

Additionally, the Park reserves the right, upon reasonable suspicion, to inspect packages, purses, backpacks, fanny packs, and all other items in the Park to ensure the safety of property and persons. Individuals who refuse screening or inspection may be removed from the Park without refund and refused re-entry.

Animals other than service animals, as defined by law, are prohibited. Service animals must remain under control and on a leash, harness, or tether unless doing so interferes with the tasks of the service animal. Service animals may be restricted from certain rides/attractions for safety reasons. Service animals that may harm property or persons, as determined in the reasonable discretion of the Park, may be required to exit the Park.

In addition to prohibited items indicated in this Code of Conduct, the following items, which will be confiscated, are prohibited:

• Firearms, ammunition, and weapons of any kind, including knives, as well as any item designed or intended to be used as a weapon or that appears could be used as a weapon.
• Tasers, stun guns, and similar devices.
• Hazardous chemicals or other substances, including acids or other items which appear suspicious.
• Mace/pepper spray and other self-defense or restraining devices. 
• Marijuana (including marijuana-enriched products) or any illegal substance.
• Explosives or explosive-like items, including fireworks and water balloons/water grenades (metal or plastic).
• Spiked clothing/jewelry.
• Glass bottles (excluding small containers such as baby food jars).
• Spray paint/markers.
• Recreational devices with wheels or motors, including drones, remote-controlled devices, laser pointers, scooters, skateboards, hoverboards, balance boards, inline skates, and shoes with built-in wheels.
• Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile phones.
• Any other item that the Park determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, is suspicious and/or harmful, unsafe, and/or disruptive to persons or property.

Mobility devices including wheelchairs and electronic convenience vehicles are permitted in the Park only if the mobility device follows the requirements below.

• Must have at least three (3) wheels
• Must maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered, or unoccupied (without training wheels or similar modifications)
• Must be manually, electrically, or battery powered 
• Must operate at walking pace
• Must be single rider (no multi-rider devices)
• Must not exceed 36 inches in width 
• Must not exceed 52 inches in length

Mobility devices must be used responsibly, yield to pedestrians, and remain on designated walkways. The Park reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any mobility device determined unsafe by the Park or which does not meet the requirements stated above.

The Park reserves the right to interpret and enforce this Code of Conduct as the Park deems necessary to maintain a safe, family-friendly environment. Policies, operating procedures, hours, attractions, and offerings are subject to change at any time without notice. Park may enact restrictions and procedures not specified herein that Park deems necessary. The Park has broad discretion to protect property and persons and the Park itself and maintains great discretion in implementing procedures towards the protection of same.
